i dunno if this should be in this section, but i just read on another forum that a kid put gunk out engine cleaner into the engine (thru the oil cap i guess) to clean it out, like he sprayed it in, ran the car for like 5 minutes and drained the oil, he said it gets all the gunk and crap out, is this true, is this safe???

Ya it works for the most part I use it before I do my oil changes but you DO NOT drive with it in your crank case your suppose to let the car idle for 5 minutes.

"Gunk" make a flushing oil to be used as described.......but the "Wynnes Engine Flush" product is far better!. This is left in for 15 mins. at a 2000 r.p.m. fast-idle before draining.
I used the gunk cleaner about every 3rd oil change on the accent and now on the miata. When i had the valve cover off of the accent (which I bought new with 13 miles on it) at ~75,000 miles you could eat off of the inside of the head, it was that clean (minus the oil  ).
