Default Re: beta, delta??

Your 4g61 is a Mitsubishi engine.

The Alpha was Hyundai`s first `in-house` engine, followed later by the DOHC Alpha II.

The Beta motor which powers Tibs. & Elantras has recently been fitted with variable valve timing on the intake camshaft, becoming the BetaII.

The Delta is an all-alloy 2.7 litre V6 engine

Hyundai will soon have two further advanced motors in their line-up, both of which are all-alloy & will be made in several sizes each........they are the [4 Theta & V6 Lambda.

Hyundai are to allow Daimler-Chrysler & Mitsubishi to build the Theta engine under licence........for use in their own cars, but Hyundai are keeping all development rights to themselves!.

Cheers,
Nick.
