Hello, my name is Summer and i just bought my first 2004 tiburon. I put a 8 piece poision flared wide body kit on it and i'm ready to put on 18 inch wheels. But i'm running into a problem. I need some kind of spacer for my wheels to make them stick out far enough so the body kit will look right. Right now i have my 17 inch wheels on there and they are inside my back fenders about 3-4inches. I have always heard that putting spacers on is a bad mistake, so now i don't know what to do. Plus, i'm a girl and I am having trouble finding people to help me. Please help:lol:
3-4 inches is too much for any spacer to handle, I hope that you have not bought your rims yet because this issue will have to be solved using wheel offsets.
Here is a quick fix if you can't be bothered with the tech and want to enjoy the driving experience:
-Find a wheel design you like
-Call your tyre and wheel place and tell them what you want; also tell them about the kit or else they will order standard offsets and ry to space them later, or:
-drive down to the tyre place and show them the car; they will be able to determine the offsets from there.
This is the easy way out; I assume that you're not trying to eke out every availible mil of track for stability reasons and so the math is not necessary. Hope that helped, and welcome to the boards.
Beware of leg humpers.

yeah 3-4 inches is way too much for a spacer. MechaniX_034 had it right. I can see the back wheels being that much off but the front too? Just look into wider rims. a nice deep dish rim always looks nice on a new tib, and if you go chrome you can do your make-up in the lip, jk. good luck with the rim hunt and keep us posted....
I have found the perfect off set wheel that i love. It's enkei LM1 18X8. I just hope they will look right. My car is being painted right now, and I get it back next week. Then, i'm off to the wheel place. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the replys.
No problems and drive safe, have the car with you when you view the wheels, if possible place them beside the car so that you will have a better isea of what they will be like.
