Default stnthetic transmission oil

I have a 2003 Accent with a 5-speed, when I purchases the car I got the ok from the dealership service director to use synthetic motor oil after the break in period. But when I recently call about synthetic transmission oil he only said it was not reconmended. Does anybody know of any reason why it is not reconmemended other than the service department would not profit from it because they don't offer synthetic transmissin oil? Has anybody tried synthetic trasmission oil in their manual transmissiom?

Thanks

Default Re: stnthetic transmission oil

Some synthetics are fine (I use Redline), and others are not (Mobil 1, for example). You just need to make sure the oil meets the right rating for your transmission (GL-4, if I am not mistaken).
