Those are ordinary halogen headlight bulb designations (types).

A proper HID headlight system doesn`t use bulbs at all & is VERY expensive.

I believe aftermarket fitting of these is actually illegal in some parts of the USA, but that`s just something I read.

Nick.

well first you need to figure out what size bulbs your car takes. Im not sure what the 2nd gens take, I think maybe H1. Then you need to figure out what temperature you want. Ive got 6000k and they're very bright and have a nice color. I belive that the higher number you get, the brighter they'll be. And they brighter you go the more purple tinted they will be. So if you want more of a bluish tone, stick to around 6000k. You can find HID kist on ebay. I bought mine through Evo Fusion (Shark Racing) for $300 shipped. They're not too expensive and are definetly worth the money. Best investment Ive made so far, and probably my favorite mod.

HID is definitely the way to go. And the 2nd gen Tibs use H1 high beams and H7 low beams.

Yeah but it is absolutely senseless and a waste of money to put and HID kit on the highbeams. You dont use them often enough to need them, and they are bright enough to begin with anyway. Just get some of those $20 fake HID bulbs and it'll look nice. Thats what I did.

when you say illegal..it's thoses Xenon kit's with the dark coated blue bulb that cause's tremendous glare that the rice rocketers use,

since many Manufacterer's use HID Kit's with a high lumen output like rising or angel white..it shouldn't be a problem,

of course cops see Luxury Vehicles like lex and benz with white light Xenon so i guess they won't mind,

if HID were banned and illegal, then why are Car company's offering it??..hmm??answer that,

I said that I`d heard that the AFTERMARKET FITTING of HID lighting systems is illegal in some U.S. states.
