if you want to go underhood, as in engine parts, stuff like that, i would get the highest temp paint you can find at the auto parts store. i engine enamel, or something like that. i painted the underside of my hood with rustoleum, same with the strut bar. i didnt have any problems with it, until i blew my brakeline and it sprayed brake fluid everywhere, which ate the paint off. as far as the interior, when i did my hyundai i bought the spray cans that had the tip that would fan out the spray. makes for much more even painting.

no dont use the same paint......use the high heat paint under the hood like mike said......but for the interior there is 2 choices....if you have flexible pieces then use automotive touch-up paint from canadian tire because it has a flex agent in it and will allow you to bend the peices for install......or 2, its a Krylon Fusion paint, no sanding or priming, you just gotta make sure the plastic is clean from cleaners like armour all and such.......i used both kinds in my car and it worked great......good luch and let me know how it goes.....

I like all the "paint rumors"

On engine parts ie: high temp pait yes...

On plastic or what not regular car paint can be used ie:

: nice eh? 3.5" intake

I used high temp paint on my valvecover. I haen't painted my interior yet but I have heard that vinyl paint is the best to use.

I used regular metallic Krylon paint on my valve cover. It's been there 3 years and still looks like the day I painted it. So don't believe the high temp theories. Unless you're painting your exhaust manifold, head or block don't worry about it, you can use anything.

Regardless, the type of paint you use is no where near as important as how you prep it. Prep work will determine the outcome.
