Default Cold Air Intake question

I just put in an AEM cai in my '05 Tibby a few weeks ago. Sunday my "check engine" light comes on and stays on. I take my car to my dealer service dept where they diagnosed my engine running too lean and dumping fuel. They say it was caused by the cai. They put the stock air box back in and the light went off. Is there something that needs to be done with a cai to prevent the engine from running too lean? I'd hate to think I paid almost $300.00 for a cai if I can't use it.

I didn't put it in, a mechanic did. He originally put it in w/o the bypass valve. He told me I should get the valve and he'd put that in for no charge. So a week after he installed the cai I got the bpv and he put that in. Two days after the installation of the bpv, my cel came on and stayed on. He didn't put the bpv on the upper pipe of the intake, but instead he put it down below right before the filter. I thought that the bpv was supposed to be installed along the upper portion of the intake. Could this have led to my problem?

the only CELs Ive heard of caused by the CAI where not the CAIs fault. It was someone puting the MAF in backwards during the install.

Thats strange. Yeah, youd want the BPV whatever thing right in front of the MAF if you have one. NOT by the filter. I didnt think that a CAI would cause a light. MIne went on with the headers.. and the missing cat. hehe.
