Default Hello!

just saying hello...ive got a 1996 excel, it is/was my first car....now i just use it as a work car, my main car is a 1992 Nissan 300zx. Im interested in getting better performace out of my excel....obviously because the 300zx makes the excel feel like a slug. Any suggestions?

thanks,
Michael

... Why waste money upgrading the Excel when you have another fully working money pit?! Keep the Excel as your backup car in case your 300 breaks and just use the money that you would spend on the Excel on a bigger turbos, and fuel upgrades for the 300. They make WONDERFUL power! Ther'es a dyno tested 795hp//825tq 92 300zx here and it's just beautiful.

simply because the 300zx goes from 0 to 100 in 7.2 secs and the excel takes about 14 secs, and i love the feel of great acceleration. but yes the 300zx is a fully operational money pit....the excel has just reached 100,000kms and is in need of new rear tyres and shockies, so money will be going towards that rather soon...

are there any performance upgrades out there that will make a noticeable difference? an x3 sleeper would be great.

there is some simple ways to make a bit better more power, bu it's not going to be quicker than your 300zx, unless you either turbo or supercharge the excel, which can be done by the way, and there is kits out there for cheap.

on the other hand, to make a little more poke out of it, just stick with the basics, Intake, Exhaust, bored thottle body and play with the computer if you can. also suspension mods will give you better response and more feel from the car, a good winner. things like short shiters shouldn't be overlooked either.

keep an eye out on ebay, heaps of stuff keep poping up for the excels cheap, things like extractors, exhaust, etc.
even the odd turbo kit from time to time,

oh, and since your an aussie, check out the aussie Hyundai forums
