Default ZEX dry shot for my 03'?

Has any body installed nitrous on a stock motor and had success or did it blow the motor? I have been researching and ZEX has a new dry shot set up that has the nozzle in the filter and they show that your cfm increases 50 cfm on a 75hp shot compaired to the original dry shot where you tap into your intake tube. I already have an intake and i'm saving up to buy the nitrous and the header w/ high flow cat from shark racing. ANY INPUT?

Well anytime you increase the HP, you increase engine temp... it's probably gonna do some damage, yeah.

It may not blow the engine but it'll shorten the life of it.

i'm not worried about shortining the life as much as blowing the motor. I'm going to buy 2 extra blocks next spring when I get my income tax check. I plan on spilling about 5,000 on custom internal to include hardened rods, forged alluminum pistons, high compression rings, seal, and bearing and races; along with hardened rods, port and polish head and ball ping stress releaving the block. then i'm going down to one of our local import performance shops and getting a custom turbo kit. They already have the specs as they have already turbo'd another accent. they a the kings of custom turbo in the local area. The second block will be all natural aspiration with same mods excluding the tubo but adding nitrous and both motors will have larger throttle bodies and port and polished intakes. hp expectations with turbo eng. w/ 15-20lbs. of boost is between 200-250 will shoot nitrous to get there if i have to. and the naturally aspirated i'm shooting for about 175 to 225 both hp ratings are at the wheel on a dino. wish me luck i'll need it.:devious:

You can say that about any performance modification you make to your car. When you make a change you tend to "beat" on it more, hense the shorter lifespan.

I don't think many of you will be putting 200,000 on their car. I wouldn't worry about any long term effects of nitrous.

At the very lease you might have to replace your pistons rings. WAY down the line...

When would that be? I'd say about 200-400 drag strip passes and various "stoplight grand prixes". I only know maybe two people that go to the strip THAT much and their cars run fine, thank you. Hell one of them still went to the strip as the blow-by increased and the motor finally gave up about 20 passes after his personal best -

13.15@102 with a stock 1.5L SOHC D-series with I/E, common sense, alot of track time and slicks.

That car has at least 400 drag strip passes on it... The last 200 or so on the bottle and the engine he damaged OFF the Bottle, not on which causes the blow-by in the first place. The ZEX kit is still on the car.. and is IN USE.
