Speaking from a pushrod V8 background - nitrous and high cylinder compression are a good match - if the engine likes a mod when N/A it'll usually like it on the spray.
What you do want to worry about is that compression blowing head gaskets on nitrous. If you're doing a full nitrous build you always want to O-ring the block and run an O-ring'd head gasket. Then you'll want forged internals to handle the power, as with any hi-performance engine.
But, the Hyundai engine is already 10.1:1 right? If it were me I'd stick with the stock compression.
