Default 2004 Tib Major Engine Problem

Hey guys, I just through a rod on my 04 tib se.. it had 54,000km on the car. It was covered under warranty and my car was bone stock.. Im half scared to start tuning it for fear I might blow it again. Any thoughts?
:disappointed:

How did the rod blow ? I have a 2003 Tiburon GS-R 6 speed with exactly 54,000km on it as well, anything I should look for ?

DAMN man. I would tell the techs to check out the crank journals in the block. it could be the crank started wobbling due to a defective block. Or your harmonic balancer. Last is drive easier.

If im not mistaken DRACCENT I think thats refered to as "Crank-Walk"....but i could be wrong....and if it is crank walk you've got REAL problems ....

Bone stock? then why is it in the nitrous section?
sounds like you had defects in the manufacturing process.
probably a rarity

i also have a 04 tib. i was just recently told that if you put a turbo into it then it would blow the engine and that tibbys are know for that. so basically the only thing you can do is the exhaust, intake, and air filter and have it be totally fine. i know im not much of a help but just thought that you should know what i found outl.

Good to hear they covered it for you..

and Jess....who ever told you that is lame. If you build your car right you can have MANY MANY years and miles of fun.

I have 260whp and 220ft/tq on my 2003 tib...v6. 105k miles. stock motor.

its all how you take care of your car and how you drive it.
