Default a message to robert buecker

rbuecker..if you see this thread..pm me when you have time..

since you're pretty much a guru with fiddling with hyundai accent ecu electronic's..

think you can help me install my sfr ecu adapter??

if you could come and help me or take my car with you to your place and work on it, I'll pay for your services.

Pm me for details..this is a bit urgent

it's a damn shame that sfr would sell some product that they have no knowledge of installing of and can't even give me support or feedback, cause all they ever do is make money on products and focus on their motorsport than their customers..their forum is inactive so wTF??

man, you'd think when you buy a sfr product, it'd come with decent instruction's..what sfr don't know is that most of us beta accent boys run on the alpha coil packs because its simple plug and play

i never grasped the know how to make the beta coil packs work on the beta motor with the 1.6L harness..

SFR is just throwing products to just Sell..and it's mostly biased on tiburons..

I cut the wires on mine and put the new connector on plugged it into the beta coils. In other words, im using the beta coils. I think that should work with the 1.6 ecu.

I seem to remember you saying that it would run but poorly, something like a stuck injector or crossed plug wires. Can you tell if all cylinders are firing? Try running it for about 20 seconds and then shut it off. Check each header tube to see which one is warm. If some are cooler than others and they are matched like 1+4 or 2+3 check the coils. Start the car and pull one of the suspect plug wires to see if it is sparking. If it is then it might me a fueling issue. I had a similar issue when I got my MSII on my car, it ran just like you were saying. I had a stuck injector + coils firing backwards + bad crank sensor, not real easy to troubleshoot multiple problems.

the other coil has a orange and brown wire..

i know that i have to swap connectors but, the wiring is the problem

coil pack 4-1 has a orange and brown wire

coil pack 2-3 has a orange and blue wire..which goe's where?

Before you cut any wires try a simple test. Just put your 1-4 plug wires on your 2-3 coil and visa versa. This would be an easy test to see if it is firing off of the incorrect coils.

i would prefer to just know the correct wires,
instead of risking fouling my spark plug's

why do all the guesswork when the beta Accent guy's running on beta coil packs who know the know-how?

this is the major obstacle that's making my car not work with the beta ecu

I'm pretty sure if you did the plug wire swap and ran it for a few seconds it wouldn't foul the plugs, besides it just might work.

i got a message from rtpscoupe about a year ago..but i just dont understand it. "Quote" This is what I found on sunday. Sorry I only had five minutes to look, so no pics. I had to help a friend pull a ka24 from a 240sx.

This is actually kinda tricky but actually simple. Ill try to explain it without being confusing. Just to clairify, I have a 2001 1.5L accent and and a 2001 XD Beta II. Im not sure if the years matter or not.

Your trying to use the beta coil pack on your alpha harness? Is this correct? When I did my swap a actally spliced the beta conectors onto the alpha harness. However it dosen't look like this is nessesary.

I noticed that the alpha coil pack connectors do actually plug into the beta coil pack. However if you just plug them in without rewiring, they will be on the wrong coil !!

The Alpha conector (cyl1,4) actually fits on the beta coil (cyl2,3)

The Alpha Connector (cyl2,3) actually fits on the beta coil (cyl1,4)

Therefore if you just plug them in without rewiring, the wires for cyl 1,4 will be leading to the coil pack for cyl2,3. Im guessing this would be bad!!

I think this is what you have to do. Cut both plugs off the harness (leave enough wiring to reattach obviously). Splice one plug onto the wiring for the other plug, and vise versa. Make sure not to get the wires crossed. If you have any questions feel free to ask. "Unquote"
