tiburon turbo question

Hey guys, i have a 99 tiburon stock internals im wantin to turbo it, i have an entire turbo kit, but i need to find out how much boost i can add to the motor without blowing it up.. someone on another forum had said 6psi, So any input? Thanks

search is a wonderful tool. use it.

6psi is more the rule of thumb for the accent engines. they're just not made to handle boost.

i Have done plenty of searching, and i have a general knowledge of what it can handle i just like to be safe and ask other peoples opinions.. i know from searching this forum alone that 06 2.0L's run anywhere from 7-14 psi, i know that some 1.5L accents run 12-15 psi.. so frankly i dont need to search ive done that... I just want other peoples thoughts and discussions isnt that the point of a forum?

ive heard around that the 2.0 can hold a max of 12 but i probably wouldnt run that. 8-10 would be my suggestion.

I've Already turbo'd the tiburon. I ran 7 psi for a while but the stock fuel system just wasnt wanting to push it, i lowered the boost from 7psi to 4psi. It ran Really well with the 4psi amount so i pushed it to 5psi Car runs Really really well. Dont have any issues with spikes im using a MBC to adjust my boost.
