I'm thinking about a new exhaust and the size exhaust pipe I have stock I think is 2'' would it be okay if I went up to 2.50 or would that screw up back pressure? The canister i'm putting on has a 2.5 inlet so i kinda want to run 2.5 all the way from the cat. thanks:smoking:
2.5" will be fine as long as you add a resonator (like the Dynomax bullet) between the cat and muffler. If you're going to run no resonator then go with the 2.25". Personally, I think the 2.25" with no resonator is too high pitched and "zingy". I prefer the sound of the 2.5" with a resonator. The resonator will lower the pitch a little and add some backpressure to make up for the larger 2.5" pipe. Whatever you do, make sure someone welds up a system from mandrel bent sections rather than "crush" bending you a system. The resonator is available from Summit Racing for $31.95 (Part #WLK-24215).

your stock exhaust is 2.25" uhmm.... 2.5 will be fine.. im sticking with 2.25 tho... except my cat converter is a 2.5 hehe a lil better flo through there... i still need to get a catback though
The flanges lined up perfectly but the stock tiburon exhaust is not 2.25 last time I checked.
I would stick with 2.25" if you have no plans on forced induction but you will be fine with a 2.5" exhaust. If you don't add the resonator it will be pretty loud. What type of sound are you looking to achieve? Also what mods do you plan on adding?

There is a replacement for displacement. It is on 2 wheels and 600cc.
I'm getting a cold air intake and just the exhaust for now. I want a deep sound but as much performance increase. I'm more after the performance side rather than looks and sound. so any tips are awsome thanks! oh and what other mods can i do to increase perfrmance that are not to bad on the wallet??? thankx:evil:
