Default Intake on a Veilside?

I am planning on getting a VeilSide kit. The picture below shows where I want to have an intake to pull in the air. Does this look like a good location, and what intake should I get that will reach way down there?

I believe the speedstate CAI doesn't go into the fender. They're CAI places the filter right at the bottom of the bumper. So you might be able to do it with theirs. And if not, just about any CAI can be tweaked just a tiny bit where you can place the filter in that location. Good luck....

What are the differences among the following (performance? efficiency? price?)
Heat Shield Filters, Cone Intake Filters, Breathers, Twist-Air Filters? Which would be more practical to use in the location shown above?

They're all basically the same thing, except for Breathers. Breathers are what you put on your crank case exhail any fumes that are stuck inside. As far as Heat Shield filters, they're just filters with some kind of shield around them to cut down on warm air. Cone intake filters are just round open air filters that you put at the end of your intake tubing. Twist air filters are the same thing as cone intake filters, except they're supopsedly able to twist the air going into your intake manifold giving you more performance. But in reality, it doesn't really do a whole lot more than what a normal cone filter will do.

If you end up going with a CAI where the filter rests in the location that you showed above, then you're best is to just go with a regular free flowing open air paper filter, like K & N.

I appreciate the information, it really helped. Is there any benefit to having a Dual Filter Intake? Picture at http://24hiper.com/R1_coldairsystems.htm

I found this picture below which made what you said easier to understand (in case anyone else was interested)

i see the heat shield filter reducing air flow. but that's just me. just get a cone filter then you can't go wrong.

The AEM puts the filter facing forward right behind the stock driving light pocket. I recommend buying the AEM and replacing the filter that comes with it with one that has an open end. The K&N that comes with he AEM has a closed end. With the setup I recommend, you would get a ram-air effect over about 35 mph.

I assume AEM is your pick of the best out there. From what I've heard, I shouldn't buy from EBay, but has anybody here experienced buying AEM from EBay? I bought my CD Player, a friend's CD Player, and a few other things from EBay and have had success everytime (always buying from an EBay Store with minimum neg. feedback). How much would AEM run me if I bought from a store/AEM? What is AEM's website?

If your are going to locate your filter like that then make sure you get a bypass valve.
