Anyone find an inexpensive solution to the weak 5th gear problem?
I've been hearing alot of this from some of the turbo guys.
The 5th gear of our cars are notoriously weak. Thats why alot of the korean drag racers either go with an aftermarket sequential tranny (mucho $$$$) or just make their cars top out at 4th gear.
My question is, has anyone found an economical solution to this problem? Obcviously, i'm not planning to spend 15grand on a sequential transmission.
Re: Anyone find an inexpensive solution to the weak 5th gear problem?
fifth gear should survive about 230hp.
If you are making more HP, you should have the cash to get a machinist custom up a new fifth gear.

okay, how about 230torque?
Again, there is a viable solution. Go get a custom gear cut.
