I want to get new rims, but know nothing about how to make sure they will fit.
What specs do I need to look for?
I want to get 16 or 17" Enkei Zeus, but don't know what things I need to look for to make sure that the rims I choose will fit my 2000 Tiburon. Can anyone help me? Also, the tire issue, I hear that low profile wear down real quick, and I'm always driving back and forth between Nashville and Knoxville on the weekends (about 170 miles each way) so I need to know what tires would fair best on such great distances of travel. I don't want to be shelling out $300 every 3 months on tires.

bolt padern is 4x114.3 tires i would reccomend a tire that has 280 treadwear rating or higher. i got yokahama avs es 100 205/45r16 i love them. but your not gonna go anywhere in the snow with them. they also have a AA traction rating with a A temp rating.
what does it mean when it says 18x8 or 17x7 ? what are the x7 or x8.5 measurements and what does the 2k Tibby call for?
Edit: If anything does not match exactly (besides the bolt pattern), am I screwed out of getting the rims I want or is there an adapter or anything I can get to make them fit?

17 or 18 is rim height 7 or 8 is the wheel width. depening on the wheel you have to have a tire wide enough to fit. i wouldn't get 18's they might rub 17's sould be good with a 205 and i've heard of 215 rubbing.
xxx is width of tread in mili meters
xx is side wall which is % of tread width
rxx is rim size
taken from whalentire.com, it says STOCK TIRE SIZE: 195/60R14
So 195 is the width of the tread and 60 is the % of the tire with tread, and stock rims are 14"...
So 205/45R16 would have wider tread(205) with less % of tread on the tires(45) and 16" rims?

i'm gonna go with 16's, cause my tibby's lowered, soon to be even lower.in my opinion, 17's dont look right on tibbys, fenders arent rolled enough and the car is too small. but then, thats just my opinion. tires will be sized at 205/40or35/16.
I have decided to go with 16" rims as well. I want a larger tire for the traveling I do and it would be quite a difference to get 16 instead of 17.

Whalen Tire is incorrect. Stock size for a 2000 Tiburon is 195/55R-15. If you want 16's, get 205/45R-16's, they're the proper size. 205/40 and 205/35 16's will be way too small.

16 inch rims are just way too small. I had 16's before I got my 18's and when I compare them now they just didn't look as good. I don't have any rubbing with them and it's great because they tuck up right into the wheel well and hardly show any tire. At least go with 17's. Majictib-if you're going to get the veilside kit you'll be wasting your money on 16's becasue once the kit is on they will be way to little, I got mine after I got the bodykit because I hated the 16's.
