Default Uh oh!

Well guys... my tibby is not doing so good right now.... On sunday, it started to make a noise like marbles hitting each other. Yesterday I took it to the dealership and they belive it is a rod that is knocking and it might have screwed up my crank, thus needing a new short block.

I don't understand how this happened. I've been giving the tibby its maintenance, and I haven't even started to mess around with performance mods!

I'm sad...I don't have my tibby....

When you say "rod knocking" I can only assume that you mean the connecting rod to the piston. The only other times that I have heard that phrase it was in relation to "push rods" that operate the lifters on old school engines. Since our engines are overhead cam designed we have no push rods. So my question is how can a connecting rod "knock"? I am so confused.

No, you don't want a Z. Well I mean it is your choice, but Tibs are so fun to hook up!

Z's are fast but just wait till you have to fix it. The nissan dealer near my house was the biggest Z dealer on the east coast and the only one to service them, people use to ship them in on trucks from all over to service them. They are sweet but very expensive to fix. A guy called my work and needed a coil for his Z, well each cylinder has it's own coil and they are $180 each times 6. ouch! you do the math. Tibbys are much more affordable than a Z, but if your rich GO FOR IT!

if you want to go the TT route i'd suggest a rx7 or supra, they are easier to work on, have you ever seen the bay of a 300? they are cramped. but they are very nice cars so go for it. good luck looking.
