Default lowbeams only last 3-4 months

every time I buy H7's they only last 3-6 mo. max. they're 30-40 bucks and don't last for !@#%.
Also they have those crappy bulbs that are painted blue, and theyre dimmer than the stock bulbs. also, how do you realine the horrizontle possitioning and the verticle. I think I went over a bump and theyre all sideways. when I bought the car, they were nice and straight with that little dip in the middle that both lights made in the same spot. now I have two dips that are 2 feet apart.
I just want to be able to freakin see again. :smoking:

I have the same dim problems that you have and it is a major pain. But you can adjust the vertical height of the beam. There is a black screw on the back of each headlight. Just turn it and it will move them up and down. I would do this in front of a wall so you can flip on the lights and get them perfectly aligned.

what lights have you used that last and are actually bright not just freakin blue? what makes a brighter bulb? is it color temp or wattage?

I just found the screw that you're talking about. I want to adjust them left-right not up-down. I found the scew that adjusts left-rt but theres a plastic mounting over it. guess Ill just have to break it.

You have a 2nd Gen, right? Using the H7s...

You cannot re-align the headlights. They shouldn't move at all. Recheck the bulbs. They might not be sitting flush in the assembly.

Also, make sure that when you install/handle the bulbs you DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS of the bulb under any circumstance. If you do touch it, wipe it down with alcohol. The grease from your fingers will cause the bulbs to go out prematurely.

And your spending way too much for bulbs.
Check your local PepBoys/AutoZone/Kragen for Sylvania Cool Blue H7s. They are about 15 bux each. I use them. They are brighter and whiter than the normal bulbs.

My last set lasted me almost a year. I recommend them.

All H7's have some sort of problem with them. They don't run right in the cars and have a tendency to blow quickly. Take a look at the new VW Passats they blow their lights about every 3 months.

My H7's blow out fast. I had a similar problem with them not aligning correctly on the road. Just make sure they fit into the housing correctly, and that they are flush, as spiffy said. Make sure they aren't upsidedown or something, and when you unscrew the back, make sure no light is coming back towards your engine (that will show that they aren't in there properly).

I wish PIAA would have H7 bulbs in the US... they supposedly make 'em, but don't distribute in the US. Try EBay? Mine blow every 3 months or so, but I've heard of PIAA bulbs going for years.

ONLY1DB - where the hell you buying your bulbs from? I gotta go there.... BTW... does anyone have HID installed on a 2nd Gen tib? Or know who does? I'd like to talk to them one-on-one. You could save money on buying HID instead of buying bulbs after bulbs...

Autozone was $14.99

This is in Phoenix.
