Default 4 wheel drive tiburon?

hey does anyone know of someone that has done this type of conversion to their tib?? i plan on doing alot of work on the "Tibbi" during winter since i have a month off from school, so other than the clutch, turbo, and internals as well as fuel system. i was looking into making the tib an all wheel drive. is it possible??? could i use a mitsubishi eclipse for the rear transaxle??? well please i would appreciate any help from all. THANKS!

The only people that I know that have an AWD Tib are the Ralley teams. Hyundai also has the AWD on the HCD3. If you were in some way able to talk to Hyundai and get the AWD from them... then you might be able to do it!

I think in the long run, it would be cheaper to buy a Santa Fe, then replace ALL the body pannles with Tib body parts! It may be a tuff fit and require some custom work just to make the pannles fit, but in the long run I think it would still be easier AND cheaper than converting the tib... But who knows... Not trying to rain on yr parade... Good luck!

Your easiest way to do it would be to do it like McIntrye Hyundai did. Slap another beta motor in the trunk, then somehow link the two trannies (auto trannies will be easier to link than 5 speeds), and link the two throttle controls.

That should only run you about $5000.

If you want to stick with a front engine AWD setup, good luck, 99% of the stuff will have to be custom fabricated, and drivetrain losses will lower the 140 HP at the engine to about 80-90 hp to the wheels.

Leave it to Random to Needlessly complicate things.

I saw a guy with a Neon who fit a Dakota drivetrain to it so he had AWD. Crazy...

When I talked to Libra racing about it they said their setup was like 90k or something to that effect. I can't quite remeber...long story short, no fucking way.

I'm cool...
