Default Numbness in Shifter

i have to admit that hyundai didnt make the best shifter in the world for this car as most u know...but hey......its not a bimmer or anything. so i wanted to ask if b&m short shifter gave u a better feel when u shift. the stock one has no feelin wutsoever. i'd get it if it made drivin a stick shift more fun. thanx.

It's on my list of things to do... right after front and rear stress bars.

http://groups.msn.com/sapids/tigztibby.msnw orhttp://groups.msn.com/sanpids/laughi...to&photoid=118. The B&M makes driving a manual more exciting. The feel is more solid and precise, unlike the stock shifter. I had to cut the shaft off a bit though. It's too tall for my taste. Take a look at the links above and let me know what you think.

I just instaled the B&M and I love the feel. So tibmeister you cut you B&M to shorten the shift even more. How big of a job was that to do? I was thinking about doing something like that but I was also worried about breaking my shifter If I got a little aggresive. Also I am wondering how much I can safely cut of cause I like how short that shifter in the pic was. Very sharp.

since I didn't have a grinder, I had to do it manually so it took about an hour. I had cut the shaft about 2 to 2 1/2" and shaved the ball stop to fit the universal shifter knob. It came with 3 allen wrench screws. The best way to cut it is use a grinder. It's not a very hard job. If you get a grinder, it'll take about 10-15 min to do all the job plus installing the shifter back.

Well....

first off...

Its not a Hyundia Shifter.

Its Hyundais copy of the Mitsu shifter.

Now... Mitsu shifter sucks....Hyundai will suck...

B&M helps...return it to 10% of what the shifter should feel stock.
