does anybody have anything to say about cranking amps?

If you have neons, a system, remote starter, or anything that may draw a lot of power, you may want to look into it. I had a remote starter installed along with my underbody neons connected to it so that when the lights would flash (when starting/unlocking/locking) my neons would flash as well. Within a couple weeks my battery started to drain quickly. It got to the point of barely cranking. I went to Autozone and they told me it was just about dead, and suggested I get a battery with much higher cranking amps to be running all the electrical stuff (car alarm, remote starter, neons, system, etc.). If you are running anything big like this, ask Autozone or some place, they might be able to let you know. And see if the battery has a warranty. I got my battery for $65 I think at Autozone, and it has a 3 year warranty to be replaced for free anywhere in the U.S. if it dies.

when i push both power window buttons at the same time you can tell something is going on.
i don't really know how to explain it but if the headlights are on they will get dim for a second. i want a battery that will take care of that. i also plan on having a little bit of stereo work done and i don't want the battery to be drained and die.

I'm using an Optima red top battery. It's a dry cell, so you can mount it in any way, and it has 1100 cranking amps. MORE than enough to start a car in the coldest weather. :

Just remember though..your battery is not going to stop current draw against your electrical items. It helps SOME, but in order to get adequate power to all your things, you need to upgrade the alternator. Basically, the battery is going to help when the car is in "Accessory Mode", but once the car is actually started, almost everything is on the alternator for power.
