If that's all you can get and you can not wait til something else comes along, then I would select another car. It's just too much work to upgrade those as they are for racing. Unless you're not gonna race it, then I would chose the 2000 auto.

Sorry, but nobody here in the US can realy make an intelligent decision on that since we never got the 1.6ltr here.

Best thing to do is drive them both. Personally if you are not going to upgrade it, I would get the manual because I have to have a manual tranny. Automatics drive me nuts.

The other question is what is easier to swap? I manual to 5spd swap or a 1.6ltr to 2.ltr swap? What is cheaper to swap? Would your taxes and insurance be cheaper if you get the 1.6ltr and swap the 2.0 ltr in?

The thing is that manual swaps are another thing that has been made illegal in Singapore. :dead: If you want a manual, you'll have to go with the manual. I cant make the decision for you bro, will you have the same plans for this one?

I suggest that you hold out and wait for the right model to come along; anything else would be far more expensive in terms of saman and tuning costs. In the meantime, whatever else can be used to see that your wife gets the best care.

Hope everything works out for you man.:

If you cant wait, go with the manual

its more reliable then the automatics.

if you can wait, I would try to hold out for the right car.

well if you could salvage all you aftermarket stuff from your old car, willing to put more work to get the 1.6 up to where your old one was.. id do that.. as long as you were happy with the way it was performing. thats what i would do
