aight man......the top one that is connected to the plastic tube is ur MAF......that makes the bottom one ur Temp sensor....now ok.....this is what i did..no piping..no expensive intakes....just a cone filter....and with the help of some enginuity and the use of rubber(the filter didn't fit exactly on the MAF sensor so i had to make a little um..bushing or whatever the hell u wanna call it so it would fit snug)..i connected the filter straight onto the MAF sensor....and then drilled a wholein the side of the cone filter and stuck in the temp sensor...then i got a support that holds it from the bottom...i can get u a pic of what of what i did if u want just give me an e-mail.....

total cost.......$23 or whatever the cone filter cost

i would like to thank the guy who's tiburon i saw had done this first....

Sorry if I hijack the post. Just curious....I look at my car and notice there wasn't any MAF sensor in my car. Its only the Air Temp sensor and the rest are the pipe to the IM. How come??

i am pretty sure you have a MAF sensor it is the little piece of plastic (almost in a "T" shape) right before the elbow that leads into your throttle body. which happens to be right before the IM

umm I dont think drilling into the side of the cone filter is the best way to do it
first of all it is not intended to be drilled into in other words it could wekean the strength of the cone
also the cone is designed to trap very small dirt particles so as not to let them into your engine so you would needa good seal around the edges of where you drilled and inserted the air temp sensor and if you have a regular cone filter may it be APC KNN or whatever there are no smooth surfaces to do this unless you smash the filter a little bit which sends us back to the structural integrity of the filter material.

ok mr. high-tech jackass........u wanna get all technical about this shit....u can fucking seal the temp sensor with a glue or all-weather caulk if u really wanna go all hard core with that shit......now the way i believe it should work.....u dont' even have the temp sensor hookd up to the intake at all. You can just tape it somewhere else in the engine bay in the free air...cause the temp of the air around the engine is the same air going into the intake and the engine.......am i right on that?aranoid:

now gary.....i'm pretty sure u gotta have a MAF.....if not.....i think that might be a problem? ....no?:ermm:

and the integrity of my filter so far has been intact after ..about 11 months.....and hell if i have some free money after my 1st year of college i might buy me a reaal intake...but for now i'm a cheap ass8D
