Default GK parts on my 99'?

I don't know where my car came from, but it seems that it's got a mixed batch of parts. First off, I found my exhaust (from cat. co. back) to be like the GK's (3 bolt flange), but still has the first gen muffler on the back. Now, I just found out while pulling my tranny that I have no speedometer cable (even though it shows it on HMA). My question is: do any of you have a speedo cable on your RD's, and then did they get rid of them in the GK's? It's really weird because I still have the old style engine (measured the crank and flywheel flange) and have a MAF type car. I'm confused. uzzled:

Uhhhhh, why would you think you would have parts from a car that has only been out a little over a year on a car that has been out almost 5 years?:hmmm:

Well, anyways yes there are various different parts on the tibs some of the older RDs do have different flanges on the exhausts then the newer RDs. I forget when exactly they changed over.

my bad... sorry for the confusion, I'm still getting used to the RD/GK terminology. I meant 2nd generation (I guess 2000-2001), whatever it's called, maybe "newer" RD's . Anyway, does anyone know why I would not have any sort of speedometer cable? Just curious as to if it's some indication of what transaxle I have so if I ever need to replace it I know what it is.

I have a 99 Tib and I do not have a speedometer cable either. I think it depends on when it was made in 99.

The RD2 (2nd Gen, twin headlights..) has a lot of newer bits on it for 2001, Differant Catback flange (3 bolt instead of 2), a better coilpack (so lower rate of coilpack failures in the 2001's), slightly differant gear ratio's, and I think that is about it, but if anyone else knows about more bits, shout out!
The 2001 seems to have been the cross-over car. In the UK especially... The 2001 is the only Tib in the UK that has a MAF sensor instead of a MAP....

You are not alone in your boat.. my 99 is full Second gen under it's first gen skin.. not really a bad thing, just makes life interesting when you do work.. make sure you know when your car was manufactored and have the vin number handy when you order parts from the dealer.
