Default Door Buzzer, why isn't there one on our cars?

Ok, I have left my lights on about four times so far, always resulting in a dead battery at the most inopportune time. What isn't there a buzzer on our cars to warn us of this? How can I put one in?

I've done it a few times too... even on a 1986 Accord with pop up headlights! :nervous:

Someone needs to rig one up or something and make a DIY or something.

I've locked myself out a few times too. Now I always check if I have my keys and that the lights are off. :

Mine only chimes when I leave the keys in the ignition. If I turn the car off with the headlights on, the headlights go out but the parking lights and dash lights stay on.

Damn, I wish I had your car. I have killed my battery once, and almost killed it 3 more times. I wish somebody posted instructions on how to wire up the lights to the buzzer.

Or someway to kill all power to the lights when the keys are outta the ign.

I belive there is a door/headlight chime module that you can buy at your local autopart store. Even walmart sells it. I think how it works is its hooked up to your entry system (light on dash, dome lights, etc..)and your head lights and when both are on they complete the circut and sound the buzzer. It think I saw it for like $10 bucks. Yeah...its is a pain in the ass to walk out to a dead battery because of your headlights.

I actually disconnected my door chime because I hated it when it went ding dong ding dong when I had be doors open listening to tunes. As if I couldn't already tell my doors are open. DUH!!!

A light chime would make more sense since I have left them on a half dozen times now.:dead:
