Default clutch and flywheel are in!

I finally got my Vitek stage 4 clutch (sprung, 4-puck, carbonic disc) and Fidanza flywheel installed yesterday at 1 in the morning. I thought that it would be unstreetable and was worried about chatter, but once I took it out on the open road it performed great. Definitly a great combo for even a daily driver. I would recommend it to anyone considering it but afraid that it will be to harsh. As long as you rev it up high enough, there is little to no chatter. All I can say about the install is don't buy a transmission jack adaptor or anything. Rent a dedicated transmission jack (about 20 a day). I got the tranny splined the first time with the rental after toiling with my floor jack for a couple of days. I can't wait for a couple hundred miles break in to put some nitrous to the motor!:devious:

That's what I thought when I bought it. I was actually hesitant to put it in, but the clutch drives like NEAR STOCK in all gears except of course 1st. For first, I rev it up to about 2500 and let the clutch out kind of fast, and the majority of times I get NO chatter at all. Remember that it has a sprung hub, which really helps drivability. I don't know if it will get more harsh as it breaks in, but right now it feels perfect (about 50 miles on it). If you do drive it regularly and only rev to about 1500-1700 and let the revs fall, you will get some pretty harsh chatter. All I can say is that I love driving it now!

ouch... that looks nasty. Do you know what happened to cause the failure or why? Was anything else damaged (input shaft)? My engine revs smooth as butter, there is no problem shifting in gears, and there is no vibration or anything while driving. Are there any warning signs that I might be able to feel?

if you hear or feel a tug on your clutch pedal, that's a problem.
i honestly think i just got the lemon of the lot. not sure how or why, but i did. stuff just happens sometimes and i have horrible luck.

or, it could have been me when i installed it. i might have missed something or whatever. if it feels good, good. i was just warning you to break it in nice and easy.
have fun man! lemme know what times u run with nitrous when u get it. nitrous is soooo fun.

uhh.... i've got a big problem. Alright, I am just about done the break in and so I give it a little gas in third (getting on highway). I shift into fourth and let out the clutch, and it's like it didn't even catch. It hit the rev limiter, bounced a couple of times, I let off, and it catched and drove normally. The pedal feels much lighter now, I don't think it goes down as far as it used to, and the clutch now only starts to engage at the very limit of the pedal travel. I don't think it is fully engaging because when I was limping it home, I tried giving some gas in second and the clutch started slipping. I don't think the clutch pedal is adjustable, so I think it's something major. Anyone, Help!!!!!!!

I also noticed that the clutch release lever moves/rotates a lot. HMA says that it should only rotate about 3 degrees. Mine looks like it rotates about 15 degrees. It says that "If the range is over 3° it is a symptom that the release bearing and clutch cover are not aligned correctly." However, I believe that my car was like that before I installed the clutch, but I'm not sure. Is the release arm really only supposed to rotate 3 degrees?

Here is the link to HMA (it's at the bottom of the page):

Have someone press down on the clutch pedal while you observe the slave cylinder pushing on the arm. The arm should only swing about 1 inch on the end. It shouldn't swing much.
