Default ****2001 V6 tiburon****

This is just a thought... i was surfin around ebay and found a tiburon v6 engine with tranny... and thought... v6 in my tiny rd2 tib? hmmm.... the torque of a v6 in a 2600 car? can this be done? the gk rib has BOTH the 4 and the 6 so i'm guessing the 6 can't be that different than the 4... i would need complete engine... tranny... probably custom mounts... axles... suspension... brakes... ecu.... harness... i unno sounds possible i've done 1.5 engine swaps... did an sr20det to my nissan sentra gxe... ga16de(115hp) to sr20det(205hp stock... wus makin just over 300hp when i sold it)... and did a mini-me swap to my crx... so i've got some experience... i might just give it a try next year when i get my reenlistment bonus...

i dun think the rd2 frame was built in mind to house such a big motor. you will be waaay front heavy.
call up dave at rpw and with ur bonus check, get a motor from him that's overbored to 2.2L and p&P w/3angle valve job. you have to pay a core charge, but u get it back when you send him ur motor. not a bad deal man. he quoted me 3200 aus. so w/currency rates down, u could get a good deal.

Actually another thing to consider, the frame and the cradle with mounting points

RD: your frame

GK: V-6

Not going to happen

Well, as of right now I would say stay with your current setup or do what IQ suggested. As it is going right now, the Delta cannot handle as much power as the Beta can. But as research is starting to show, we might be underesitmating the Delta. Also refering to what IQ mentioned about the front being to heavy, we all see how the current Tiburon has more than enjoyable nose dive, but it can be worked with. I think you would be spending way to much money to first just get 170hp and 181ft-lbs. I think if you have enough money to do that, you could surely invest in a nice turbo/sc setup that will benifit you more without comprimising engine bay space and suspension setup.

sounds like there are too many negative aspects of the v6... so i'll probably just go with my original plan to turbo charge... the over bore to 2.2 is a new idea to me... sounds like a honda h22... massive displacement for a 4 banger...
- bullet proof the bottom end
-forged rods
-forged pistons
-forged crankshaft
-low duration cams
-titanium valve springs
-ported and polished
-metalic head gasket
-all the good stuff to fortify engine
-t28 or t04 turbo... something with low lag.. but good power... should have about 300 hp from the engine
-cromoly axles
-lightened flywheel
-stage 3 clutch
-lsd
should be obtainable with about 15 grand... right? OR custom fit a nissan sr20det!!! factory built to stand up to 300hp... lol nevermind too much custom work...
-probably just slap a turbo kit on... and then by my BMW 5 series!!!
