Default speedo prb

I installed glow guages ("7 color") on my 2000 tib a while ago... but recently i'm getting a prb with the needle on the spedo getting stuck in various possitions. some times it gets choppy when going up the speed or will get stuck at a higher speed when i'm slowing down.
I checked if the needle touches the pad in the back with the numbers but it does not..
so what i did I realigned the needle and it worked fine for a while... then it does it again.. what can i do to make it smooth again... what do you think is the prb...
any help would be nice...

Thanks...

I have the same problem. My speedo and tach are alway stuck, but sometimes work. specially on very hot days. I tried taping the gauges, but that didn't work. tried pushing the needles down and that didn't work. So, I bought a $48 tach with indiglo from www.rsversion.com and left the speedo and tach alone. I'll post pics when I get it.

the gage faces replace or just cover the original? If the needle is not touching... have you checked your alighnment with the needle's shaft? It does not take a lot of resistance to stop a needle in it's tracks..

if you have the guages that just go over the stockies, then what's happening is that the guages are putting a small amount of pressure on the top of the arm. the only fix i can think of is replacing the guages alltogether. i used to have guages over mine, but i got tired of the guages sticking so i just got replacement guages and now it's fine.
