Default Cold air intake, performance chip

I have a 2001 Tiburon. Any recommendations on which brand of cold air intake is easiest to mount, quality, which ones to avoid? Same question for performance chips: easy install and remove, effectiveness, recommended brands, problems. Thanks, Victor.

aem is a good intake, well it better be, i just ordered one from here! aos is nice too. but avoid injen at all cost, can we say "rip off"? i hear of weapon R being a bad choice so itd steer clear.

btw, they DO make chips for our cars.
http://www.powerchipgroup.com/produc...sp?pid=Hyu0035

a company called powerchip group programs chips for a lot of cars. the beta I just so happens to be one of them. i went ahead and took the liberty of setting u up with the page of info. 140hp-156hp, 133 lb-ft. torque-148lb-ft. torque... 340 US dollars.

thats if u use the 93 octane chip. they offer a 91 octane chip but with less gains for u gas conscious people.

hope i helped

How does a chip unlock power/performance from a car?

And if there is all this unused power resources wouldnt hyundai know about it?
There must be a reason, why they haven't?

I'm sure hyundai didn't do this for the fact that you would have to use higher octane gas. Also, it probably doesn't do much for gas mileage, which is a higher priority for auto makers.

exactly right, red97.

hyundai de tunes their engines so that they will run leaner and on lower octane, thus making better mileage and cleaner emissions.

it isnt just hyundai, all car companies do it. blame a power loss on your catalytic converter bc thats a culprit as well :dead:

the injen is a very good intake, i dont know what you are talking about. and it is easy to install it doesnt cost any more than the aem and it looks better and is easier to install.
