6 inch tach... help me install it
j/k
Seriously though.. i need to know what wire behind the gauges you guys tap into to get a tach signal (thats not on the ecu side)
I know theres something behind the gauge cluster that gives a signal
I tried tapping into the t/m signal wire (1out of 3... the other 2 are ig and ground) by wrapping the wire on the screw and bolting it down
That didnt work...
So what do you guys do when installing a tach...
WHERE!??!?!?!?

Re: 6 inch tach... help me install it
Don't you need something called a tach adapter for the signal? I don't remember exactly what it was.
6" tach?:sleepy:

thanx man...
im a retard when it comes to schematics...
My retard senses tell me its pin #6 on the left side... i need to double check that
I can bridge into the wire going into the harness...
i tried to screw in the wire into the t/m signal... and it didnt work
Maybe i need to tap into the wire and not the strip...
Ill try again tonight.. ill let you guys know how it feels...
Im surprised... i thought we had a handful of 12" tach guys in here

Re: 6 inch tach... help me install it
id say from looking at that it is wire number 4 on 101-2.:??:
my dad just looked at it to, and he said it was #4. he works on imaging machines at hospitals too, and deals with schematics everyday.

Re: 6 inch tach... help me install it
on my 01 tib. the wire I used was a white wire under the dash behind the fog light swtich with a black plug harness. If you look up under the dash you'll see it. Or if your having a hard time just take out the bottom of the dash to expose all harnesses. It's a white wire for sure though.

Re: 6 inch tach... help me install it
ok...
Didnt work
i tried hooking it up to pin #4 with no luck
Is there some kind of resistor in there?
This really bites... i have not had a tach since september :depressed:
Im going to have to check the haltech wiring to see if its even doing anything.
