Default Shark Racing Carbon Fiber Hood

was wondering if anyone happened to know the weight of SR's CF hood and the weight of the stock hood for a 2001 would you. <img src=/images/forums/snitz/uhh.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

well....i dont have the exact weight of that particular carbon fiber hood but, generally carbon fiber hoods weigh around 8- 11pounds.. yeah... thats right... you can pick it up with your pinky.. i would speculate that the stock hood weighs around 30-40 pounds probably even more...

Stock hood = 26 lbs. At least on the 1st gens.

My stock gen1 Hood was 44 lbs with the under hood heat shield.

My CF gen1 hood was 6.5 lbs.

My CF Zefiro Evo Fiberglass hood is 12.5 lbs (With metal grill work)

All that being said...you don't replace your hood with CF for the weight reduction unless you are going to gut your interior and go all out drag. Otherwise...it's just for looks.
