Did I get the wrong spoiler? Have to drill new holes.
I ordered a take off of the Shark spolier for my 97 Tib, but when I went to put it on I found out I would have to drill all new holes in my trunk for it to work. When I ordered it I thought it would line up with the holes from my factory spoiler, but I was wrong. Has everyone that has gotten the shark spolier have to drill all new holes? Cause if not I'm going to send this spolier back and just spend the extra $200, get the real Shark spoiler, and not to have to drill new holes in my trunk and fill the old ones.

How hard do you think it would be to find a 97-99 Tib that didn't have a spoiler to begin with and just switch hatches? Or would the shipping be out of this world on something like that? I just hate the thought of paying to have the holes filled and half my trunk repainted. I'm just looking for the cheapest way of doing this.

Wings West Spoiler? one hole on either side will line up, drill new holes(not that big of a deal)weld the stock center hole closed, and repaint entire hatch.:

Let me get this straight. You would rather buy a new hatch and pay for shipping rather then keep the one you have and fill two little holes and get them painted over? :hmmm:
Use your head kid:dead:
First of all, locating a hatch your color without a spoiler may not be that easy. Second, it may still need to be painted. Third, it would probably be cheaper just patch the damn holes and have them painted then the above.
Besides, patching the holes will be easy, you can do that yourself and then have the shop that paints your spoiler paint over the holes.:hmmm:

There is a replacement for displacement. It is on 2 wheels and 600cc.
Re: Did I get the wrong spoiler? Have to drill new holes.
If you are replacing the factory "fx" spoiler with the "shark" spoiler, all the holes should line up, but you will have to drill 2 new holes for the left right legs. the FX only has 2 holes on the outside legs, but the shark spoiler has 3.
if you going with the 'shark' spoiler with no center support. yeah, the holes from the center support for the FX spoiler will have to be "filled".
The Wings West "Shark" spoiler has 4 bolts on either side. NONE of those 4 bolts lines up with the stock holes. You'll have to fill the 2 center holes, and all side holes and drill 8 new holes (4 per side).
If you wanted to do it and keep the stock holes, you should have gone with the factory Shark spoiler. It may cost an extra $100 or $150, but you don't have to fill any holes, only drill 2 new ones (one per side). It's WORTH the extra money for that reason alone.
So...who makes the spoiler you went with?
