Default Stage 1 Modifications.

Hi I've got a 1999 Tiburon (Coupe in Australia) FX, I'm looking at starting the first stage of Engine modifications on it and was looking for some advice. I'm concidering

Modified 55mm throttle body
Daikin Heavy Duty Clutch Kit
Carbon Fibre Cold Air Intake
HyTechnica 4-1 Extractors
and HKS Exhaust

Has anyone tried any similar modifications or has an other suggestions for some better options?

i would probably go bigger throttle body 58-61mm and port matching the intake manifold to it. the HVE intake looks nice but you'd get better gains with a true CAI (cold air intake) go for the extractors! HKS exhaust? cool...but redo your whole exhaust system including your CAT to 2.5" i have the Sharkracing BBTB @ 58mm and i have not port match the intake manifold yet. is yours 1.8L or 2.0L?
check out the online store here!

yeah id get a true cai first. its the best bang for your buck. with a cai u see hear and feel a difference.

im pretty sure he has the 2.0L
in 97 the tiburons came standard with 1.8s and the 2.0 was in the FX trim, in 98 they all went to 2.0 and the diff b/t FX and base were things like: cruise control, etc

Yeah I've got the 2.0L

I'll Check out a better CAI, the biggest problem I've got is trying to get some of the parts here is Australia. I'm looking at putting an Underdrive pulley on but I can't find anyone here who can get one for the 2.0L Beta I.

MIKELANTRA2323 what sort of difference did the Throttle body make and is it worth thinking about a twin throttle body?
