is this a true cai(into fender)?? i cant tell...if it is...is there something that would make it worse than an AEM or injen??? i mean-is it worth $77?:ermm:
Yes that is a full CAI. The only real downsides I can see are the small cone filter and it just looks lower quality than an AEM or Injen. You could always buy a new filter though.
oh yeah..better believe i'd be throwin' a K&N on there...i figure that its just metal..not powder coated or anything....thats all i see but if its a true CAI i can have it powder coated or just heat wrap it soooo...yeah any other opinions...???:ermm: :rambo:
well...truley i'm toooo lazy to ever have it powder coated. so i guess it woould work then?? probably a heat shielded RACTIVE filter or K&N...hmmm we'll see..:ermm:

Since the filter will be in the fender, there's absolutely no advantage to the heat shielded Ractive filter. :
the filter is cheesy, but it doesn't "look" bad.. to be honest i'd like to see dyno's to back the intake.. with that filter, then with an AEM (they make their own now, instead of using K&N as they had in the past, as most of you know), a K&N, and soforth.. for the price, it might just be a cool experiement. see who can come up with the most power, with the least amount of cash, with a cold air intake... and prove a theory either true or false...
Is it always a matter of cash?
someone should email that company and ask if it has been dyno'd? and if so lets see some sheets.
I know where I'm putting my money. But, dollar for dollar, it doesn't seem like a bad deal.. under 100$ after shipping. heat wrap would be ideal. if you dont mind the look under the hood.
I have that intake, and i got it off ebay for $50 including shipping. at least, that's the exact same pic that was pictured in the ebay sale. that's even the cone that i got. it works just fine, nice throaty pull. the only other one i have to compare is the random special, and they felt roughly the same, but this one held up and sounds nicer. it drops straight down from the MAF, and bends into a hole that you need to cut in a plastic fender wall behind the bumper. the filter sits right behind the foglight/vent opening.
from what i've seen, it is a AEM copy. i believe SSAUTOCHROME was the ebay dealer, but i can't seem to locate him now.
