Default Traction Control

Hi, I have a 2001 Tib and I think it has traction control on it (b/c its really hard to get the tires squeling). If it does, does anyone know how to take it off, I heard you have to loop something.. dunno what.

Your 2001 Tiburon does 'not' have traction control. If you have an automatic that's why. If you have a manual it shouldn't be that hard to do. I don't know why you'd want to though because spinning tires isn't doing much in the way of moving you forward. You are better off learning how to launch without losing traction.

Yeah, its unfortunately an automatic. I just wanna be able to squel my tires for fun and to get attention. My mom's minivan squells more than my car

Hey i got the way to do it and you can even smoke your tires Okay you wanna brake tourqe it. Basically you just put your brake pedal down as far as possible and keep it on...then you wanna floor the gas and watch the RPM. Okay now you have to wait till the needle gets to 4800 or around there then release your brake right away and keep your gas down. You can let you gas go a little earlier but at 4800 is when the tiburons 2.0 I4's tourqe peaks so that will give you the best squel. Also you can put on just your parking brake the whole way and just floor your car. These methods should work for you because they work for me and I have a 97 Sonata, and I can get my tires to smoke! But I also have a V6 with some good low end tourqe. Tell me if these work for you cause I wanna know..

I cant brake torque my car. It goes up to 2k rpm tops when I try. I think I need a manual for what ya said, Im not sure. I know I can neutral drop but thats really bad for my tranny. I havent tried the e-brake thing yet, ill try it out.
