I had a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust made with a Magnaflow oval muffler. All of the available bolt-on units are too buzzy, in my opinion.

well so far you have

MBRP
KORE
Pace Setter
OBX
Custom
??

anyone that has heard or used any of these.. rate them.. sound quality, actual power increase, etc, etc

and add to the list as you see fit. aftermarket part guides' are something we are in need of here on HP, lets get this one started! RD owners, lets get some feedback!

Ok, i just got my exhaust done on my 2001 Tiburon. I got the OBX 4-1 ceramic header w/ test pipe. It gave a noticable power increase and a pretty nice sound. It was a little distorted w/ the stock muffler so i got a Magnaflow oval muffler w/ a 4" tip. sounds great and feels awesome. Definately noticable gains. I'm prob. not going to to the catback setup because it wont help that much.

actually. the stock exhaust is rather restrictive... piping is small.. jumping to a 2.25 or 2.5" mandrel bent piping should show noticeable gain... and sound better *shrugs*

I have a '99 Tiburon with an MBRP catback. It has 2.25" piping and the muffler is a perforated core design with a deep, throaty sound. I don't find it too loud and have never been pulled over for noise. That may change though when the headers in my garage go on. As for performance, for me, it got rid of my flat spot in the torque curve around 3000-4000 RPM. I would guess it gave me a 7-10 HP gain. They do make this system for a 2001, but I think you'd have to lose one of your cats. If I had to do it over, I would have done the whole system at once. I would have installed the headers first and had a custom-made, 2.5" (not 2.25") mandrel-bent exhaust fabricated finishing with the MBRP muffler. If only I were rich.
