I took apart my dash to paint the whole thing and to change the light colors of my dash display. A few days later my air bag light came on. I wasn't too worried but I finally got it plugged in and it came up as a falty air bag modulator. This means it is unpluged or shorted so my question is has anybody else had this problem or does anybody have a bluepint of the wiring for the air bag set up?
Thanks for any help u can offer becuase I don't want to spend $550 on a new module.

This happens any time you take your dash apart, primarily the gauge cluster I believe. I got the light when I put my new gauge faces on. There's nothing actually broken, the dealership can reset the light. They might charge you though...I just brought it in for other warranty work and mentioned it, playing dumb of course. They reset it for free.
You should of disconnected your battery before taking the dash apart. :ermm:

If you didn't disconnect the battery before taking apart your dash, chances are there's nothing wrong with the module. Have the dealer reset the light. Unfortunately, the light cannot be reset with a regular OBD2 scanner, only the dealer can reset it.

Well thanks a lot for the speedy replies, I was kinda worried I might have to pay a lot for a new module. But will the airbag still work or is it zapped until the comp is reset?

nah, it still works fine. the only problem is that when it isnt working properly, you wont be able to tell the difference, and it could explode in your face while you are driving down the road.
i didn't have this problem ever and i took my dash apart many times and replaced my guages you might check all you connections might have accidently unplugged one and didn't plug it back in
