As all of you are probably aware, those Michelin 195/55/15's suck mad ass. Hence, has anyone here had any luck with alternative tire sizes without swapping the stock rims? Last year I moved from Connecticut to Pennsylvania and they have no idea how to do road treatment and snow removal and I was almost killed by those freakin' Michelins numerous times. I'd like to avoid that if possible. Any help would be most appreciated.
ACTUALLY THOSE v4's are pretty good stock tires. but i bought some really nice tires. i got the BFG g-force KDW T/A tires. for 15's if they make em . they are great tires. also the new hydroedge tires that michelin makes have awesome reviews. i have a buddy that works at belle tire and they are the number 1 seller right now
I put Dunlop Sport A2's on my 14's.....not bad....pretty good wet traction....good for all weather driving...really inexpensive.....not the best for launches or racing...but whateva

When I got rid of my 17's I threw some 205/50/15 Falken Ziex-512 on the stock wheels. MUCH, MUCH better than stock. And cheaper. And much better than the expensive Toyos I had on my 17's. I highly recommend them.
The problem with the stock Michelins.. not only are they an "ok" tyre.. but they are EXPENSIVE! The stock 14s are over 120 bucks a piece.. but the Parada Spec2s are like 80 in a 16 inch size...

The tire size with the widest selection you can put on the stock wheels is 205/50-15.
You have 2 choices. By all season tires and have meerly ok traction in any condition.
OR
Buy a second set of wheels and put actual winter/snow rated tires one set and have summer/performance tires on the other. This is the option I would go with.
