Default Paint problems ???

I have had my 2001 silver tiburon for less that 5 months and the paint is peeling off the bottom of the door pannel. The car's paint, over all seems to be scratching and marking very easily.
Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions ??

No but take your car to the dealer and let them fix it. Your Tiburon has Paint Warranty so if the paint from side is peeling off, they should repaint that part for free. Just don't let them to put those "cover up" paint because it won't look good. Force (sans fist ^^) them to repaint.

I got a 97 Tibby FX and My paint is bad too. The sunroof has 7 or 8 spots where the paint has started to bubble and there is a spot on the roof and hood that is cracked under the clear coat I don't think there has ever been a paint recall or has there been one

Sorry, there has never been an offical paint recall, however, some hyundais have suffered from poor paint longevity, others have had no problems. About all you can do is to contact your local dealer and see if they are willing to work out a deal with you on a paint job. Maybe they can have their body shop cut you a discount rate.

I have a 99 Tibby and my paint is bubbling as well. I took it to my dealer and he basically told me I was leaving my car filthy with bird doos on it and that was eating the paint. I had to get to work, so didn't have time to argue with him. I'm going to try another dealer first when I have time to argue with him.

The paint/clear coat is really thin and seems in some cases didn't stick very well. It scratches very easily. In our garage, sometimes the door hits a piece of cardboard leaning against the garage wall.... and there's blue marks on it where the paint rubbed off.

My paint is good so far, plus I used to sell cars, ALL SILVER PAINT IS CRAP!! I have watched new silver cars be repainted twice, before they where even sold... Also a friend of mine, had a 98 fx, and his paint went bad, white spots in the clear coat. After a big long bitch fight they painted the car, but not the whole thing and it never really matched... Plus this is not a hyundai problem, I sold toyotas, fords, lincolns, mercurys, gmc, pontiac.... they all do it, and all treat their customers like crap when it happens, except for cadillac, but after spending 60 grand and a 30 grand car with plush suspension and alot of insulation i guess you have to. ALSO DO NOT EVER EVER EVER EVER GO TO RODGER'S HYUNDAI IN KNOXVILLE TENNESSEE, I DONT CARE IF THATS WHERE YOU BREAK DOWN AND ROADSIDE BRINGS YOU PAY TO GO TO CHATTANOOGA, GOD THEY SUCK! first they told me that i had to sign up for a program that cost like 600 bucks a year inorder to keep my warranty valid and i made an appointment for an oil change and to get my seat belt recall, five hours after drop off... they inform me that they dont have all the parts but they managed to get my oil change, and come to find out they didnt use the oil i specified...
