no caps please, it makes people think you are yelling. anyway, i know they will git on a secong gen., so i guess they also will on a first gen, but expect rubbing. and search my friend, you will find a lot of answers.
Dont do it unless you want some rubbing, they would look good for shows and stuff, but I would recommend either 16s or 17s. 17s look the best IMO but to each his own. I'm sure there are some guys running around with 18's but they prolly have some skinny ass tires on there with em, and I'm sure some 18s are gonna fit and some will rub too much.
See check that out, you supplied info, you got someone to stop and think about what they were gonna do, and you didn't offend anyone.
I think 18s while some may like em, just dont do anything for performance on the tibs. Maybe some big ass deep dish 18's on a tib slammed to the floor at a car show, but nothing past that makes sense to me.
i'm smart, i know i am, you guys don't think so. you think i'm stupid. keep on thinking that, i'm far from it. these people that decide to put useless things on their cars are the stupid ones i just poin tit out.
not trying to be mean but niether one of those posts have releveance to this post except for the 2nd part of black tibs.
cryticalxracer....some wide light 15's would probably be the best for performance, some light 16's would also be good....i wouldn't go 17's unless for looks or if u can find some light set, but they are usually kinda expensive.
here's the deal. i have 17s. i've dented three rims on the road because of potholes or lips where the road cracked and they tried to repair it, but left a lip (on the highway, so at 70+mph). i would really suggest 16s, as would most. if you're going for show, go with 18s. if you're going for general road looks and "go," go with 16s. you can get lighter rims in 16s and you'll greatly decrease the chance of denting the rims. 17's are a great fit for our cars and are just the right size, but not too practical. if you do go with 18s, it's really a a matter of the right offset to ensure there is no rubbing. i've heard +35-+38 works well. with 17s, +40 is what you'd want. when you go with 17s, a 40 series tire is what you're looking for to keep the speedo accurate. with 18s, a 35 or 40 series is what you want. go to http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html and play with this java applet to see what size keeps your speedo acurate. i see you're in nc, which probably has decent roads. i'd say go with 17s. 18s are really pushing it unless you have pristine roads.

Some people would say it is pointless to mod a Hyundai at all (or ani small displacement engine).
Also, some are not in to performance and just looks.
And others are in to both and have different tastes then you.
BTW, you can fit 19's on a Tib. CleanShark has them on his now.
