Default A'PEXi s-afc and v-afc

Hey...this is my first post. i have seen a few of you talk about the A'PEXi s-afc, so i looked it up. whenever it was talked about, the v-afc was right next to it. what exactly are they and what is the difference?

The V-AFC is for Honda's only. You would need the S-AFC.

vtec is basically variable valve timing in hondas... you cant simulate it with a s-afc
hyundai has CVVT in the new elantras and tiburons(4cyl) which is our version of variable valve timing but of course it does not help any performance wise like vtec does for hondas. piggyback is basically some sort of computer be it S-afc,laptop, palm pilot etc..that allows you to tap into your ecu and make changes and tweak "makes your ecu think differently" settings. :rambo:

alright. thanks man. it only does it at a certain rpm right? like the vtec? that probably kills ur gas mileage when ur using it right?

no, contrary (sp?) to popular belief..VTEC is not hidden boost that kicks in at a certain rpm...its always there...its an extra cam lobe if i remember correctly. so it doesnt necessarily kill your MPG....i wouldnt reccomend leaving it on for daily driving hence why its connected to a laptop or palm pilot or even the S-AFC has different setting for different driving types (set manually) :rambo:
