It's the easiest mod I've done so far and don't worry it's safe I did mine a year ago and haven't had a problem.

I am realy getting tired of every time somebody posts about captive rotors, somebody with noncaptive rotors talks about the assembly screws.
Be careful about how you answer questions because if he would have listened to you, his wheels would have fallen off while driving down the road.
I am not just getting on you, tons of people have done the same thing lately.

hey..you dont need to do a whole conversion for rims...try to find rims that was made for captive rotors...it will work out better(not to mention cheaper) for you...i have a 97 tib and have rims with the stock rotors on mine...never had to replace a thing...just a thought but if you really want to do the swap...just call up the dealership and ask them for all the parts needed for a non-captive rotor conversion on your car good luck

Maybe he wants a particular set of wheels that will not fit and has to do the conversion. Swapping to noncaptive rotors greatly opens the wheel choices up and the possibilities for brake upgrades. Also, when it comes time to replace rotors, it will be cheaper since most people can do noncaptive rotors themselves and shops charge a grip to do captive rotors.
