okay i just read in a VERY RELIABLE MAGAZINE... that the 03+ 6speed gtv6 tib shares it's tranny with the NISSAN SE-R SPEC V....now....hmmmm.... Now the se-r spec v is a 4 cylinder and the gtv6 is a 6 cylinder so that means that if they are that interchangable between 2 COMPLETELY different motors by 2 COMPLETELY different manufactures from 2 COMPLETELY different countries what makes me believe that i can't make the 6speed manual work on MY 4 cylinder? Has this been tried? I know it's been asked but this is new info...atleast new to me. Now if they make a tranny that bolts up to a 4 and a 6 cylinder it must share some characteristics with other engines...maybe the BETA? cuz i know they use the same tranny also for the nissan altima(minus a gear)... and i think the magazine also said maxima...not sure but i can't remember...gotta go buy that damn mag. i would just LOVE to have a 6speed tranny on my tib...but if this don't work out with the 6speed manual swap i'ma just swap out gears from an automatic tiburon tranny into my manual tranny and get the largest k-spec final gear.

Even if it were true, just because the tranny bolted up to a V6 delta and to the 4 cyl SE-r, it wouldn't mean it would bolt up to the 4 cyl beta. What the trany bolts up to has nothing to do with the number of cylinders.
However, there is a 6spd madein Korea that will bolt up to the Beta. Good luck getting it though. Either way, why spend all the cash? I mean seriously, spend the money on a turbo or s/c you will get a lot more out of it.

...I think it time to blow this scene...get everybody and their stuff together. Ok, 3, 2, 1, let's jam!...
the only way anybody will EVER be able to find out would be to buy a wrecked GTV6 and see if the tranny mates up... tempting... I say wrecked, because inevitably there are little things that you would need to complete the project.. shifter cables, shifter, mounts, wiring... probably need custom axles and hydraulic lines for the clutch..

But, no the v6 tranny won't bolt up to the i4 from everything I have heard.
You best bet is to find a Korean source that can get a 6spd Beta trany but they are very tough to come buy. Hyundai Korea doesn't seem to have any extras which means you have to wait for the few cars out there with them to be wrecked. Then, I am sure every tuner in Korea is already fighting you for them.
