Well, I sacrificed the Tiburon today for a 2004 Ford Focus SVT 2 door. In a comparison the SVT is obviously superior, sure I know for a little bit of cash I probably could have made the Tiburon alot quicker, but now I have a better foundation. Not to mention it should hold its resale value much better than the Hyundai. Also parts are more readily available. There is only one other car I can think of that has just as good if not a little better bang for the buck and thats the Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V. But at any rate I just wanted to say I appreciate any and all of the help offered on these boards. To all of the members that offered real help instead of beating up the younger tuners, my hats off to you. You are the lifeblood of Hyundai performance. Remember to educate and not to eradicate. I thank you,

Don't be a stranger and feel free to continue to post here if you feel like you want to.
We have a lot of non hyundai owners/previous hyundai owners here.
Just don't forget your log in and password cause you never know when you might get another hyundai.
The V6 Tiburon isn't that bad of a deal as well and Hyundai is holding it's value better these days. Who knows what's in the books for the 2005-2007 hyundai lineup.
Isnt the SVT suppose to be really fast? or is that another model. I know i saw an recent artical that ford was gonna put out a 500hp focus. that would be unreal. i hate fords, but even i have to say DAMN!
About the same hp but a lot less torgue.
However, the Focus weighs about 450lbs less
Prices ar close to the same (the SVT costs about $1000 more)
I can guarantee you Ford will never produce a 500hp Focus for resale.
Maybe you are thinking about the Ford GT which produces 550hp and 500ft-lbs of torque for the low price of $140,000:

Now I have gave a few looks for the internals specs on the V6 engine, but no luck. Hyundai offers a V6 to the similar specs of that of a I4... Not much to brag about. I would rather have an engine like this to build from. Does the Tiburon offer internals forged? And where is a good link to find out more details on Hyundai specs.?
I am a big fan of both cars but if I was to buy I would buy the SVT probably to. I almost did when I was in the market in 2001 when I bought my LC. Just the financing did not pull through. If I had to buy another Hyundai today, I would get the Elantra GT.
As for most cars holding their value...that will be the day, some day!
Well, congrats on you SVT and like Red_AGT wrote, don't be a stranger!
I will say this that if I was going to be doing some huge power upgrades, I would probably go with the SVT. But that being said, the average tuner never goes above 250whp and the Tib is a lot easier to get there with the V6. In addition, you already have the additional torque and the torque increases will be better on the V6 too.
Keeping all that in mind and what realisticaly you would do with the car, the Tib would be a better choice for many people. Sure, everyone might say they are going to build a 400whp monster but one of a 100,000 might actually do it.

nope...im def. thinking a 500HP focus. It was just in my new motor trend. Its a 5.0L V-8. its the 2004 Ford Racing Focus RS8. only downside, its a $105,000 ford focus.
