Default Running lights, instrument cluster problem.

Alright, the tail lights and park lights that are supposed to turn on when your headlights are on have stopped working for me, as well as my instrument cluster.

About two weeks ago I'd be driving at night and notice my instrument lights would go out for a few seconds at a time, this eventually became minutes. Now yesterday they went out completely. After being pulled over I was informed that I had no tail lights or front park lights. My brake lights work, my backup lights work and my blinkers work. As far as I can tell these lights aren't 'being notified' that my headlights are on.

Does anyone know where this specific connection might be? I had a new headunit installed weeks ago and I'm thinking they may have bumped something. I've already taken most of the dash off but haven't been able to find any loose connections.

Any information or spec sheet would be helpful.

I've done this several times. Pull out the headunit. Make sure all wires are taped up with electrical tape and nothing is exposed. There is a wire somewhere touching metal.

It is either a 10amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood, or it's a 10amp or 15amp fuse in the floorboard next to the dead pedal/clutch.

Check the fuses, you can tell by looking at them if they're blown or not. If the metal piece inside the colored covering is burned or separated anywhere, it's blown. Replace the fuse. After that you should be fine. If the fuse blows again, you still have an exposed wire somewhere, and it's touching metal.

See, I did that first too. The funny thing is that the instrument cluster and tail lights aren't on the same fuse. I've checked them all anyway. And the tail lights work when I press the brake, they just don't turn on when my headlights are on.

They are on the same fuse. Have you checked the fuses in the floorboard and the ones in the engine bay? I believe the last time it happened to me, it was a 10amp fuse in the engine bay fuse box. Probably the 2nd one from the fender.

As for a spec sheet, this is one for the interior fuse box.

Alrighty, you guys rule. The problem was that E10 wasn't seating correctly. I pulled it out and put it back in then the running lights worked. Closed the hood and they stopped working. So I open it back up and press down on the fuse. Boom, they work. Hopefully spreading the pins out on the fuse will hold it well enough. It seems to be so far.
