Default RD2 AEM CAI Filter Size

I've got an AEM CAI on my 2001 Tib. I need to replace the air filter so I'm wondering if anybody can give me the inlet diameter, along with the other specs for a new filter.

I searched on here and I guess AEM shipped out K&N filters with their intakes, so I guess I'm asking if anybody may know the K&N part number. I wanna go to an auto parts store today and see if they have what I got but I wanted to avoid taking off the filter and bringing it in, since I'd have to drive the car there.

Thanks for any help.

I just went to Autozone and got the one made by Spectre I think the brand is called. Fits like a glove. I know the APC brand ones won't fit, I already tried. I dont know what size the filter is, I kinda just bought it and slapped it on.

Just go to Autozone and buy the cleaning kit for $10. It is easy to clean and 1 kit will last you several cleanings. The only thing is, you have to wait for it to dry on its own.

I cleaned mine and let it dry over night but it doesn't realy take that long.

BTW...if you don't have a local shop you can buy it from, AJUSA is the only place I found online that sells just the replacement AEM parts. Decent prices and fast shipping. 8D

I knew some one would come through for me. Thanks SpeedRacer.

I considered getting the cleaning kit, but I'm not sure if cleaning it is enough from my recent mishap - I got water sucked up through the filter and through the CAI (there's another thread about this here). I was just afraid that if I had the filter somewhat submerged, that maybe it damaged the insides of the filter.

I need to take the car in to get checked so I wasn't planning on even mentioning this mishap and just mentioning the problems. I wanted to get the new filter so that if they checked the filter for any water damage, then they wouldn't notice it. But I think I'm going to just save myself a little cash and just take it in and see what happens. gre:

Oh hell man...your filter is fine! You actually hose it down while cleaning it anyway, water definitely won't hurt it. :
