My Wheel sticks out after wheel bearing installation
Hello everyone,
I replaced front wheel bearing on 2000 Tiburon and had them pressed in.
After I put everything back on, my wheel sticks out more than the other one.
I knew it because I only have little thread left on the wheel bolt to tighten lug nuts.
I'm pretty sure the bearing are sitted in properly.
Does anyone know what could cause this and how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.
Re: My Wheel sticks out after wheel bearing installation
the wheel bearing should not affect the mount of the rim... do you have stock rims or aftermarket? If you pulled off more than one rim.. check and make sure you do not have TWO hubcentric rings on one side now

Which wheel is it?

question.. how is your brake? If you are having issues with the rim not having enough stud to thread a lug nut on.. then your brake rotor must be sitting too far outwards too. The Rim bolts tightly to the "hat" of the rotor on your 2000.. how are the studs as they go through it?

Re: My Wheel sticks out after wheel bearing installation
Have you compared it to the driver side? Does it do the same thing?
From what I can assume without seeing pics is that the rotor has to be seated correctly, there's not enough play for it to sit out any further. Does his tib have captive rotors? Only thing I can think of is something with the hubcentric adapter or someone did a rim install job over captive rotors.

Yes the wheel sticks out more than the other side.
I was going check it out but I cannot find my wheel lock.
I guess I lost it somehow...Ordered new one and its on its way.
Anyhow, I thought about what BlackTibby said and realized that it has to something with the rotor.
Rotor is only thing between the hub and wheel and if the studs are short, that means there is some gap between the rotor and hub.
I will find out as soon as I receive my new wheel lock key.
Thanks
