Default SMT-6 chip

Hiya,
i have a yr 2000 Tiburon (RD1), and looking to fit a SMT-6 chip from the following web siate ( http://www.perfectpower.com/products/smt6.asp ).
however I have two optons when I get one, go to a rolling road or get a mate to sit int he passenger side of the car as i drive to program the chip. I have one slight problem with that, in that non of my mates are that mechanically minded to be able to help out! dont wanna do damage to the engine! has anyone got one of these chips and had it programed for the RD1 Tiburon and if so any chance they can let me know hat the settings are ? :surprised:
Cheers

you will need a wideband o2 if you want to tune on your own without a dyno.

the fuel maps vary by application because you can install the smt-6 by tapping into just a few sensors, or alot. Also there are always different variables such as injectors and fuel pressure and what not.

When me and josh were tuning my Map based 1.6 with a smt-6 we just dumped fuel and pulled it out until we were at the right air to fuel ratio. You will want to tune around 11:1 for your application.

i dont know what to say, but i wouldnt recomend trying to tune without the proper tools

wouldn't you want to tune to 14.7 (0.45 volts)?

eh... i was figuring he was wanting to piggy back for a turbo application.

who knows though. The stock ecm sticks around 14.4-14.8 under most loads by itself. I would think that a piggyback would only release a few hp from the stock fuel setings.

it all depends on the application

hiya folks, thanks for the info so far.
The plan is to get a Apine turbo kit and I am just looking into other parts that maybe appropiate. I thought I would start with a piggyback chip and the SMT-6 was recommended to me.
I currently have a 2.0L with feul pressure at 42 psi. i also have a K&N cold air intake that will be replaced with a turbo at a later date.
If any of this give anyone ideas on settings I should use the help will be apprieciated. As you can tel I am pretty new to this modding cars stuff. uzzled:
I am assuming the 11:1 ratio is the air/feul with the air being 11 and the fuel being 1
??une to 14.7 (0.45 volts)???? not sure I know what this means?
:??: being a bit thick? lol
cheers for the replies so far.
