Default can any1 help?

i have a 2001 tiburon F2 (or Coupe as they are called here in uk) and was wondering if any has had any problems with induction kits?

i have a green twister filter and not long after i fitted it my ecu went crazy. on closer inspection simply a spark plug had gone...but...was this a result of the new filter
can any1 help?

i'm a little worried about re-fitting it now the problem is sorted :ermm:

I doubt the filter did it.. but what kind of induction kit is it? does it simply draw air from the engine compartment or does it put the filter down where it can get cooler air from outside the car?

Chap, come visit the UK gang at www.ukhcc.co.uk We wont bite
There should be no problem with fitting the filter as long as you do an ECU reset afterwards.

Is it one of those green FOAM air filters? If so I'd toss it ASAP and get a K&N style cone filter. The foam filters suck.

I doubt it fouled your plug though, maybe it was just a coincidence. There's two ways to reset the ECU (#1 is the easiest):

1. Locate fuse box in engine bay and remove cover. Right in the middle is a huge yellow plastic piece which can be pulled up. Pull it up and wait a few seconds, then push it back in and you're done.

2. Disconnect negative battery terminal and wait a few minutes.
